We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Pay: $27 - $32 per hour, depending on experience
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of various trades including plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for responding to service requests at our automotive dealerships in the Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines areas. This is a hands-on, dynamic role where you'll be performing maintenance tasks on-site, using a company vehicle to travel from dealership to dealership, and working with a variety of tools to keep our facilities in top condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to maintenance requests (tickets) promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Travel to our automotive dealerships to resolve maintenance issues.
- Perform a variety of tasks, including plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry.
- Use hand and power tools (tools provided) to perform repairs and maintenance.
- Record service work and update tickets in the Cherwell system.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Heavy lifting is required as part of daily responsibilities.
- Adhere to and enforce safety protocols, OSHA regulations, fire safety codes, ADA requirements, and other relevant standards.
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical skills and operational efficiency.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Basic knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry.
- Vocational training or certification in facilities management, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or related fields is considered a plus.
- Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Comfortable using a cell phone, computer, and iPad for communication and ticket management.
- Construction background is a plus.
- Must be able to handle heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
