Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in one of the following areas: psychology, education, social work, sociology, or related Human Services field.
Preferred: Graduate degree from accredited program/university in related field.

Experience: Required: A minimum of 2 years' experience in facilitating youth education/training courses. At least one year experience working with foster and at-risk youth, crisis intervention, and providing direct services to at risk youth.

Supervises: None

Summary: The Facilitator is responsible for using sound professional judgement and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population especially in crises situations while maintaining compliance with established state and federal standards.

Essential Functions:
1. Facilitates and provides all classroom trainings including the core programs (TBRI, Love
Note, Work Steady, Relationship, Employment).
2. Maintains accurate ongoing census of all youth referred and training completions.
3. Prepares material for each training group.
4. Measure pre and post education scores
5. Contacts and schedules Youth to enroll for upcoming Connect Ed classroom training.
6. Monitor client safety and support crisis intervention efforts.
7. Provide crises intervention and respond promptly and professionally to all crises during working hours as scheduled.
8. Participate in weekly supervision with Program Director.
9. Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the program director and all appropriate state and county enforcement agencies.
10. Attend and participate in: staff meetings, in-service trainings and ConnectEd events.
11. Frequently travel within Bexar County to provide services to youth.
12. Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and state/federal partners.
13. Must be able to develop and maintain rapport with youth and families.
14. Knowledgeable in all areas of training curriculum, crisis management, and curriculum development.
15. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and ability to relate to a wide range of issues, people and institutions.
16. Public speaking, listening and written communication skills.
17. Ability to work under minimum supervision. Exercise patience, initiative, and judgment.
18. Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with other employees, staff, and the public.
19. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
20. Seeks community resources to enhance ConnectEd training services.
21. Supports other program/agency services as needed.

Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
2. Maintains accurate documentation for contacts, training hours completed, and youth files.
3. Records all services and activities in a complete, concise, and timely manner utilizing program forms and Efforts to Outcomes software.
4. Community education, including general outreach, recruitment, and public presentations, with prior approval from the PD on presentation and content.
5. Monitor team performance and ensure program goals and measures are achieved and exceeded wherever possible. Supportively correct performance challenges.
6. Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and activities that promote professional growth and development.
7. Review and sign youth's records in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable licensing and contract standards.
8. Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by program director.
9. Implement BCFS safety protocols including evacuating with youth and other staff in case of an emergency.
10. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
11. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in the BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with the required dress code, at all times.

Credentials, Skills and Abilities:
1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited
to:
• First Aid • CPR • Other ________________________________________
2. Ability to manage time and complete tasks by assigned deadlines.
3. Advanced proficiency utilizing personal computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel, understanding; experience developing and managing spreadsheets; a working knowledge of computer data entry and retrieval.
4. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS policy and procedure manual.
5. Valid Texas Driver's license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
6. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control, and professional composure, at all times.
7. Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
8. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check
(fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years)
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to take initiative and communicate needs to supervisor while providing insight and recommendations to improve programming.
10. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
c. Work in a fast-paced environment.
d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
f. Travel as needed.
g. Manage time effectively and efficiently.
11. Bilingual required (Spanish)
