The Resource Industries Sales, Services & Technology (RISST) team is looking for an Electrification Commercial Manager. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for customers looking to reduce their Green House Gas Footprint in line with Corporate and Division Growth Strategies as well as develop and manage relationships between Operations and internal customers, Caterpillar dealers and end-users. This position is the "one safe source" for customer communications and customer relations related to Caterpillar's Resource Industries electrification strategy.

Cat® Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET) is a fully Caterpillar-developed system that can transfer energy to both diesel-electric and battery-electric large mining trucks while they are working around a mine site. It can also charge a machine's batteries while operating with increased speed on grade, improving operational efficiency and machine uptime.

What you will do:

  • You will be a single point of contact for electrification discussions with customers, dealers, and internal business partners.
  • Develop and manage Customer Relationships (Internal & External).
  • Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with Product Groups and Dealers to discuss product Quality, Delivery and Build Performance.
  • Present build and customer delivery performance to all Operations Department Personnel.
  • Represent Caterpillar when dealing with important customer (end-user) issues.
  • Business Development (new and existing products).
  • Work with internal product groups to identify customer needs as they transition to reduced greenhouse gas operations.
  • Grow existing product volumes by working with Product and Marketing Groups.
  • Through working with Product Groups, establish marketing forecasts and business plans and derive product build plans with operations.
  • Provide supervision and technical direction to staff and support personnel engaged in product process design.
  • Negotiate and manage contract development with customers related to electrification offerings.
  • Represent organization on various internal committees, i.e. Engineering Standards, etc.
  • Represent Division at Senior Management level.
  • Sponsor implementation of corporate initiatives.
What skills you will have:

Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the mining industry and equipment. Extensive engineering and/or technical commercial experience .

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Previous dealer/customer facing experience.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Top Candidates will also have:

Electrification experience.

Previous engineering experience in automation.

The location for this position is Tucson, AZ.

Summary Pay Range:
$144,960.00 - $217,320.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
