The Division of Business and Community Services at Holyoke Community College is seeking part-time instructors to teach EKG and Phlebotomy training courses for workforce training and contract training programs with area highs schools, based on National Healthcareer Association (NHA)-approved curriculum and in alignment with state regulations. Instructor will prepare students to take and pass the NHA Certification exams, providing all didactic and lab instruction, as well as exam preparation and review. With assistance, the instructor will develop curricula and plan course content, provide effective didactic (classroom) and hands-on skills/lab instruction, and evaluate training effectiveness so that students learn the specific skill sets and knowledge needed to obtain certification and to pursue a career in healthcare. Instructor may also be invited to teach in workforce training settings for adult job seekers on the HCC campus.The instructor will need to become familiar with NHA guidelines and policies, including testing procedures, and will keep accurate attendance, grade, and skills information.REQUIRED:
EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications (applicants with only one of these certifications may also apply)MUST be available to teach face-to-face in the Quabbin area and/or Westfield area, on the high school schedule (7:30-9 am, or after school 3-5 pm, 3-4 days/week).At least one year of prior experience teaching or training.Commitment to, and demonstrated ability to, work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff & student body.
