GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, performs clerical support for staff and faculty of the Industrial Technologies department. This position requires a positive presence, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. This individual must be able to work with a high degree of independent judgment and decision-making capability within the context of the assigned duties. Contact with college staff, students, and visitors is frequent and varied, and the individual must possess a strong and positive customer service approach to enhance student success.
The hours for this position will vary between Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5pm.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide front-line customer support services and Kirkwood information referral to students, faculty, staff and guests via telephone, email, fax and/or walk-in traffic.
- Collaborate with staff and faculty to manage a variety of projects to ensure effective workflow.
- Support department enrollment management processes.
- Perform other related work duties as assigned.

- Be able and willing to represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve.
- With knowledge of office practices and procedures, be able to act responsibly in the absence of the department coordinators and dean.
- Access, input and retrieve information from a computer for word processing, spreadsheets or into Colleague.

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency required.
- Must have strong proven ability with various computer software programs, i.e., Word, Excel, etc.
