Veritiv's Internship Program will provide real world experience, team projects, social events, volunteer work and professional development trainings. The internships are full-time, hybrid and run June 2 to August 8, 2025.

Job Purpose:

Our Continuous Process Improvement & Project Management Intern will be responsible for leading and/or participating in a strategic continuous process improvement project that is designed to realize synergies and provide significant value across the Veritiv enterprise. 


This role will involve identifying and analyzing current state business conditions/processes and deficiencies and implementing improvement projects through cross-functional team involvement. This role will provide input in analytical tools and solution development to management, process owners, users, and key stakeholders on efficiencies and effectiveness of controls and recommend procedural changes.

Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with multiple internal customers on projects and presentations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline process improvements.
• Take ownership of a project and then assist other team members to support company initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
• Project planning - utilize lean six sigma methodologies, work with business sponsors and project team members, develop executable project plan including timelines, milestones, resource requirements, systems support change, training, and communication plans
• Project execution - drive ownership and accountability for executing tasks on time and on quality. Establish project team meeting cadence and provide visibility to key stakeholders of progress against key milestones, next steps, and issues or barriers to execution
• Project valuation - understand and quantify the business case supporting the strategic initiative and execute the projects on budget and on time
• Report on risks, issues, and barriers to successful execution of initiatives required to deliver value creation targets.
• Implement change management strategy and support for specific strategic Veritiv integration initiatives including: interventions / solutions intended to create alignment, ensure process understanding, and move employees up commitment curve
• Develop, implement and track organizational readiness metrics prior to change initiative implementation
• Pursing a Business Administration and Industrial & Systems Engineering degree is preferred.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred
Interest or experience in the following areas:
• Leading process, change or training initiatives in a complex and fast changing environment
• Demonstrated problem solving, analytical and project administration / management and leadership experience required
• Ability to facilitate change activities, training sessions, or group informational sessions
• Ability to apply Value Stream Mapping and business models to a variety of unique situations
• Strong project management and communications skills
• Demonstrate the ability to create project plans that accurately reflect the required tasks and resources to achieve project milestones and to measure and monitor progress, processes and results
• Proficiency in Windows based software programs e.g., Power BI, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Word, Microsoft Project programs required.

• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong planning and organization skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
• The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

Education:
• Bachelor's Degree In Progress
