Communications Specialist - Office of Enrollment Management

The Office of Enrollment Management is now accepting applications for a Communications Specialist who will create and manage content across various platforms for Enrollment Management units, support recruitment efforts, and perform routine project management tasks. This role includes maintaining CRM systems, ensuring data accuracy, and providing client service to colleges, departments, and units.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Create content and perform additional editorial tasks for print, web, video, and other multimedia projects for Enrollment Management units.

  • Create content in collaboration with teammates and stakeholders, including but not limited to stories, blogs, articles, emails, websites, scripts, postcards, brochures, and presentations.
  • Proof content as needed for accuracy, consistency, and grammatical errors.
  • Collaborate effectively with teammates in the Office of Communications for Enrollment Management, in addition to other partners, stakeholders, faculty, staff, and interns.
  • Continue professional development to improve skills, knowledge, and craft.
Assist colleges, departments, and units with undergraduate recruitment and yield communications.
  • Serve as a communications contact for each college, department, and unit, working in close collaboration with the other contacts to ensure excellent client service.
  • Help ensure college, department, and unit adherence to Enrollment Management standards and processes.
  • Assist with the set-up, review, and testing of all college, department, and unit communications and events through our project management software and CRM.
  • Troubleshoot issues with college, department, and unit contacts as needed.
Perform routine project management tasks to ensure timely and successful completion of communications initiatives.
  • Facilitate project bidding and manage vendor relationships for mailings and other services.
  • Oversee the inventory management system and track quantities.
  • Ensure the accurate setup, review, and testing of communications, forms, and events.
  • Assist with handling security access requests for college users and maintain up-to-date documentation throughout the process.
Provide CRM stewardship.
  • Ensure colleges, departments, and units enter information correctly in the proper format and location.
  • Continually clean up folders by archiving and purging outdated communications and templates.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
  • One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years experience working in a related field, either communications, marketing, higher education, and/or undergraduate recruitment.
  • Experience working at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
  • Experience working with a CRM, specifically Slate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. The budgeted salary range for this position is $45,000.00 - $47,000.00. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

Work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
