Holman is currently accepting applications for the role of Commercial Credit Analyst.

Primary Purpose of Position:

  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of existing and prospective clients of Holman in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, and Germany.
  • Analyze clients of varying sizes, including small, medium, and large commercial/private companies, as well as large public corporations.
  • Review credit applications, legal documents, credit bureau reports, and publicly available information.
  • Investigate the credit history of clients and prospects to inform risk assessment.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, including scrutinizing financial statements (audited, reviewed, or self-prepared).
  • Perform ratio analysis, trend analysis, and cash flow analysis to determine financial health and risk levels.
  • Assess the degree of risk involved in credit transactions.
  • Recommend appropriate deal structures based on the credit risk of the client or prospect.
  • Prepare clear and concise credit write-ups with recommendations for management decision-making.
  • Make credit decisions in accordance with the company's approval matrix.
  • Analyze credit scorecard data and the performance of the credit portfolio.
  • Create objective management reports and assist in calibrating scorecards to align with the company's risk tolerance.
  • Conduct annual or frequent credit checks on portfolio clients.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management and other departments, including treasury and sales.
  • Report on credit events and support administrative credit tasks.
  • Support various departments with ad hoc requests related to credit processes or general information.
  • Assist in reporting credit events to Treasury, Finance, Legal/Contract, and Sales.
  • Analyze existing processes for efficiency and identify opportunities for risk or control improvements.
  • Periodically review data fields to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and compliance with processes.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, maintaining the integrity of the company's credit processes.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Additional education, certifications, or other distinctions are a plus
  • Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)

Relevant Work Experience:
  • 2-4 years' experience of commercial underwriting
  • Familiarity with 3rd party data providers such as Experian, DNB, etc.
  • Familiarity with financial software, credit scorecard systems, and data analysis tools
  • Proven track record of assessing creditworthiness and managing credit portfolios
  • Understanding of state and federal laws related to credit and finance
  • Understanding of industry-specific credit risks, particularly in automotive or fleet and mobility services a plus
  • Breadth and depth of expertise in a technical or functional area; knowledge of work processes and tools is generally limited to own area of responsibility or department
  • Collecting and analyzing raw data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and other helpful information.
  • Reviewing and improving analytics processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and security

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $49,040.00 - $71,105.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
