RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer in Middleton, WI.Summary:The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud security systems and solutions in the Microsoft Azure environment, ensuring robust, scalable, and automated cloud operations. This role ensures that the organization's cloud infrastructure meets security standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security throughout cloud-based operations and development cycles while continuously assessing and mitigating risks. Hands-on experience, combined with a proactive and strategic approach is crucial to ensure robust, scalable, and secure cloud services.An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the responsibilities listed below. • Design, implement, and manage cloud security architecture for Azure environments, ensuring secure configurations of cloud infrastructure
• Monitor and assess Azure cloud infrastructure for potential security vulnerabilities using tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, and other cloud-native solutions
• Develop and enforce security policies for identity and access management (IAM) across Azure environments, utilizing Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
• Implement and manage network security strategies, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups (NSGs), and Azure Firewall to protect cloud resources
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), ensuring continuous security practices (DevSecOps)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in cloud security, with a focus on Microsoft Azure security architecture, operations, and management
• Extensive experience with Azure security services, including Azure Security Center, Azure Key Vault, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Sentinel
• Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles in Azure, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, and managing identities in hybrid environments
• Experience automating, scripting and streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Strong knowledge of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, encryption, micro-segmentation, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
• Strong understanding of incident response processes in cloud environments, including detection, remediation, and post-incident analysis
• Familiarity with cloud compliance frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Proactive mindset with the ability to analyze complex problems, devise innovative solutions, and prioritize tasks effectively
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, utilizing proper grammar and syntax
• Strong organizational and time management skills with proven ability to multitask in a high paced environment
• Proven ability to automate cloud security using tools like Azure Policy, Terraform or Azure Resource Manager

Preferred:

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate or CISSP
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with container security in platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker
