How you will make contributions that matter...

  • Evaluates and grades specifications, body, texture, flavor and color of source cheese to determine usage within the plant's portfolio of finished goods.
  • Manage selection of finished goods samples to review for body, texture, flavor, color.
  • Collaborates as needed with daily pizza bakes and other end use application of finished goods for product validation and employee education.
  • Evaluate finished good against competitive samples to ensure market consistency and provide feedback to operations team.
  • Manage feedback for all vendor returns and serves as primary communication resource for vendors and the internal procurement team.
  • Works with other Saputo plants to give feedback on concerns related to specifications, body, texture, flavor, and color of source cheese.
  • Manage product sample storage, organization and disposal to ensure all relevant samples are maintained throughout the shelf life of the product.
  • Facilitates coordination with warehouse, operations and QA departments to manage the re-labeling and/or recoding of product, as needed.
  • Reviews analytical results to identify product that does not meet specifications. Coordinates product re-testing with QA and production departments.
  • Serves as a back up to the pizza baker.
  • Attends and actively participates in weekly meetings to review last week's cheese analyticalsanalytical.
  • Other duties as assigned

You are best suited for the role if you...
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six to twelve months of related cheese manufacturing experience in cheesemaking, cheese testing, cheese grading or cheese packaging and/or similar knowledge or training in cheese manufacturing indus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Cheese Grader license or the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to read / write and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement.

Hourly starting wage: $28.12
