POSITION PURPOSE:



The Channel Manager is responsible for a targeted segment of our business to develop and execute marketing strategies laid out by the business leadership team. This role also provides strategic input to key company initiatives and project management to ensure new programs launch effectively. This requires managing the new product life cycle including product introductions, improvements, and discontinuances. This individual will couple the product strategy with the marketing strategy including pricing, competitive positioning, market placement, and service programs.

Experience

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, sales, business development, project management, product management, or similar experience; OR

* Continued 5+ years of high-level experience and exposure to retail channels.

* Experience in leading teams.



Skills

* Advanced planning, project management and organizational skills.

* Advanced oral and written communication skills, including experience with business presentations.

* Strong, demonstrated analytical skills and technical acumen.

* Advanced computer skills including Microsoft products; marketing technology desired.

* Ability to build effective business relationships with internal/external clients.

* Creativity and attention to detail.

* Adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

* Ability to multi-task and rapidly adapt to changes in plans.



Education

* Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred -- graduate degree in listed fields is a plus.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



Strategic Planning & Channel Support:



* Strategic focus to balance trends and customer requests with internal capabilities and company strategy.

* Develop and execute business plans and brand portfolio strategy for channel segment.

* Lead cross-functional teams and meetings which engage sales, product management, customer care, quality, engineering, and finance.

* Serve as Program/Project Manager for new product launches.

* Protect the customer experience across all channel brands while supporting business goals.

* Create launch presentations and videos to help create excitement for new products and communicate product discontinuances.

* Establish marketing plan to drive brand voice in channel, train sales teams on brand programs.

* Build and execute strategy for channel merchandising including:

* Marketing visual and digital assets.

* Product retail packaging labeling.

* Physical assets needed for showrooms (i.e. product display, samples, information cards).

* Communication assets (i.e. catalogs/brochures/fliers, promotional campaigns, product launch).

* Responsibility in developing and executing annual brand budget by category.



Market Analysis & Insights



* Track market trends, including market research and competitive quarterly price analysis.

* Serve as a trend expert for retail partner presentations.

* Provide channel product mix, product performance, and brand performance analysis.



Ongoing Activities:



* Manage agency relationships and identify opportunities for improved process efficiency.

* Work with marketing and account leadership to execute new channel initiatives.

* Address ad-hock marketing requests from the commercial team and customers.

* Adherence and promotion of the company's core values and CITE principles.

* Demonstrate understanding of key business drivers, including revenue, profitability, and contracts.

* Develop and execute pricing strategy; provide channel pricing and promotion analysis; and manage price changes with retail partners.

* Engage Product Management team to develop new products and drive new technology discovery.

* Lead internal and external presentations, deliver customer-specific plans and line reviews, and drive business development tools.



Supervisory Responsibilities:

* This position does have supervisory responsibilities to Associate Channel Managers.



SCOPE & EXPECTATIONS:



Physical Demands:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift a minimum of 20 pounds.



Working Environment:

* Flexible work schedule with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week and 2 work from home days optional. Required days in the office may be set by supervisor.

* Typical office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.

* Up to 25% out-of-town travel may be required for client/field support, plant product and process review, meeting with agencies, and the similar. Initial commercialization phases may require travel of more than 25%.

* Occasional weekend work and extended evening hours may be necessary.

* Reports to: Sr. Channel Manager or Marketing Director

* The recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video and in-person interviews.

* Offers may be contingent upon successful completion of Background Check, Drug Screen, Physical Examination and/or potential Motor Vehicle Check.
