Summary:
Founded in 1898 as the first center dedicated exclusively to cancer research, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center pioneered the multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, now a standard for all comprehensive cancer centers. Designated as a National Cancer Institute (NCI) comprehensive cancer center in 1974, it remains the only facility in upstate New York with this distinction.

Roswell Park is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), with many faculty contributing to the internationally recognized Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology™. With nearly 4,000 employees, including 359 faculty, Roswell Park provides care for nearly 50,000 active patients, advancing cancer research, education, and treatment.

The Opportunity:
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is recruiting a Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine (DoIM). Distinct from the Department of Medicine, which includes the medical oncology subspecialties, DoIM brings together general internists and other internal medicine subspecialists with the common mission of providing our patients with state-of-the-art acute care and subspecialty expertise that includes cardiology, pulmonary medicine, nephrology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and infectious diseases. Our faculty are leaders in Roswell Park's quality and safety initiatives and support Roswell Park's status as a high reliability organization.

The Chair will build and enhance Roswell Park's national reputation in key sub-specialties, support the growth of patient volumes through clinical efficiency and partnerships, and improve evidence-based quality care metrics. The Chair will have leadership in ensuring continued education of DoIM faculty and clinical trainees and will oversee faculty development with an emphasis on mentorship of junior faculty. DoIM faculty support clinical research growth by providing expert care to patients on research protocols and, when appropriate, serving as co-investigators on clinical research protocols. The Chair is expected to have a leadership role in developing and expanding on these research collaborations. The Chair will report to the Physician-in-Chief.

Qualifications of the Chair include a record of outstanding clinical care and demonstrated leadership in education and faculty development and mentorship. Candidates should have expertise in cancer-focused care either as an internal medicine generalist or specialist. Candidates should have a scholarly track record appropriate for appointment at the level of Professor at Roswell Park. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of peer-reviewed funded research.

Salary range is $550,000-$649,238 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
