The Driver will be responsible for operating a straight or tanker truck on assigned routes to service customers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will help assist in all aspects of the business. (Oil truck, box truck, vacuum truck, and other duties).

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate tanker, straight truck or box trucks and on-board hydraulic systems on assigned route to collect waste on a specified collection route.

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.

• Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanic and supervisor immediately.

• Maintain route quality standards as predetermined by management.

• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.

• Provide appropriate administrator with each trailer number after the load is dumped and net weight.

• Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties. Comply with all federal, state, local and company rules on safety and vehicle operation.

• Maintain clean vehicle by cleaning cab interior and exterior of vehicle.

• Ensure that all required personal protective equipment be worn at all times (i.e., gloves, reflective vest, safety glasses, work boots, etc.)

• Report all accidents or incidents to supervisor(s) immediately.

• Respond to any spills using prescribed techniques to eliminate environmental damage, protect the company against possible liability and to ensure a quality company image.

• Exhibit a professional demeanor, manner and appearance at all times (i.e., meeting customers and/or the general public while on route or in uniform.)

• Maintain accurate records of services performed.

• Attend safety and branch meetings.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

• Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.

• Will be required to work overtime.

Requirements:

• CDL B with clean driving record.

• Tanker endorsement required. Hazmat highly desired.

• Must be able to drive manual transmission.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• A self-starter, confident in his/her abilities, self-motivated and able to work effectively with little supervision.
