Purpose of Job:

Responsible for developing and designing fully responsive websites for Interstate Batteries within the Sitecore Content Management System. Uses creativity and initiative to research, design and develop prototypes of the end-user experience to provide business solutions for both the Interstate brand and its national partners. Responsibilities include leading the creative direction for the site, creating mock-ups/prototypes and some front-end direction and troubleshooting. This position is also responsible for ensuring ADA compliance for the site(s) and acts as an internal expert/resource.

Job Components:

• Lead creative direction for all Interstate web properties
• Create design comps and wireframes as well as interactive prototypes
• Work closely with Copywriter, Project Manager, Designers and others to ensure projects meet deadlines
• Integrate various components such as animations, sounds, video, etc.
• Participate in UAT, bug fixes and other troubleshooting
• Member of the Agile team as a creative resource and styling expert
• Design for conversion and usability, staying up-to-date on trends and best practices
• Work with third party vendors to maintain current WCAG ADA compliance
• Ensure the site appears properly on all target browsers and Internet devices (according to W3C standards), including Windows and Mac and mobile devices
• Work with the IT team to ensure necessary back-end components are implemented on schedule
• Own and maintain the web style guide for all web properties. Requires collaboration with in-house creative team to ensure brand standards are met across digital properties
• Work with Web team to ensure best-in-class digital customer experience as well as maximize view time and conversions

Design Qualifications

• Excellent design skills
• Experience with graphic tools, including the full Adobe Suite and Figma
• Working knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
• Sitecore or similar CMS experience a plus
• Degree of creativity, latitude and professionalism is required
• Clear understanding of and ability to be a steward/guardian of Enterprise brand standards
• Can work independently or as part of a team, generating outstanding design solutions quickly
• Be able to sell concepts based on development best practices, solid graphic design and communication principles

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Web Design, UI/UX and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience
• Strong HTML and CSS and other web development standards a must have
• Knowledge and ability to use various software programs including the Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) at proficient levels
• Lead alongside other team members providing strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated multi-tasker with a track record of execution
• Refined professional, interpersonal relationship skills
• Able to prioritize tasks by value to enterprise and be proactive in project management. Excellent project management, time-management skills and attention to detail
• Work well with various personalities within and outside of enterprise
• Willing to broaden skill set through training, keeping up with latest technologies and recommend improvements / best practices
• Must be able to provide quick turnaround on projects as needed
• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand, walk and bend over

Work Environment:

• Hybrid work environment with the ability to be in office three days a week
• Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time
• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, and talk and hear
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 20+ lbs.
