The Principal Faculty will report directly to the Program Director, and provide support in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PA program's curriculum. (0.25 FTE)
Daily Operations
• Developing, reviewing, and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program
• Selecting applicants for admission to the PA program
• Providing student instruction in public health, research methods, and the applied learning series
• Evaluation student performance
• Academic Advising / counseling of students
• Assuring the availability of remedial instruction
• Designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the clinical and didactic curriculum
• Evaluating the program
• Serves on PA Program Committees, Ad-hoc meetings, commencement, convocation
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
• Knowledge of and experience with PA or medical clinical education
• Excellent oral written and computer skills
• Ability to travel
• Knowledge of curriculum and course development
• Ability to network and interact professionally with students, faculty and staff, clinical sites, and preceptors
Required Education and Experience
• Relevant Master's Degree in a science and/or health-related area from an accredited institution
• Experience in undergraduate or graduate education
• Preferences: Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Tennessee medical License or be eligible to apply for a Tennessee medical license, Experience in PA education
