The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D., PhD, or equivalent degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as formal lecture opportunities within the department.
Clinical responsibilities may include the opportunity to provide outpatient clinical care in a department or community based clinic setting, such as our school-based health clinic, our mobile care program with partners, or in a variety of other community-based clinical settings addressing the health care needs of populations that are at high risk of experiencing adverse health outcomes.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include building a successful and robust research program in one or more areas of high relevance for family/primary care/community medicine, including but not limited to health care policy relating to health equity, maternal health outcomes, cancer prevention and screening, addiction medicine, and social determinants of health. Candidates should have an established track record of scholarship and will be expected to develop an outstanding and well regarded reputation in the field. Depending upon the identified track, successful candidates may be involved in collaborative and/or independent research.
