The Department of Pharmacology in the College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern University Glendale invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in pharmacology at the rank of Assistant Professor available in the 2024/2025 academic year. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in pharmacology or a closely related field. Two years of research experience at the postdoctoral level is required and teaching experience is highly desired.   The successful applicant will participate in a team-teaching approach to meet the needs of several healthcare education graduate programs, including Osteopathic Medicine, Podiatric Medicine, Physician Assistant, Dental Medicine, Optometric Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine. Experience teaching pharmacology in addition to the candidate’s area of expertise, is preferable. A successful candidate will work collaboratively with the pharmacology faculty to develop didactic lectures and active-learning techniques to serve the educational needs of our students. Applicants are expected to establish an independent research program capable of attracting extramural funding. Start-up funds, laboratory space, and other resources are available for the applicant to establish and maintain a successful research program.   About the Department. The Pharmacology Department is within the College of Graduate Studies (CGS) and consists of six full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty who share the common goal of providing a strong foundation in pharmacology. The faculty is highly collegial with diverse research interests, including Parkinson’s disease model microbiome and therapeutics, bacterial persistence and dormancy programs, Alzheimer’s and cancer research.
