Position Summary:

The Division of Physical Therapy in the Department of Health Sciences is seeking candidates for a faculty position (12-month, tenure-track) with eligibility for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates should possess physical therapy knowledge, expertise, and contributions to evidence in their chosen area of focus. We are intentionally casting a broad net and encourage candidates conducting basic or applied research in the areas of: (1) precision medicine, (2) regenerative medicine, (3) patient-centered outcomes research, and (4) big data across a variety of patient care areas. Outstanding candidates in other areas related to Physical Therapy will also be considered, and are highly encouraged to apply.

While the primary work effort of this position will be fulfilling an individual's research agenda, contributions to the teaching missions in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and Human Movement Science PhD curriculum are expected. With a focus on research, this position also affords access to residencies (pediatric, orthopedic, neurologic), NICU fellowship, HMSC PhD scholars and DPT students through teaching courses in their area of expertise, advising and mentoring both HMSC scholars and DPT students/projects, and contributing service to our community, Division, Department, University, and profession.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

1) An academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) in Physical Therapy, Movement Science, Health Services Research, Biomedical Engineering, or related field; 2) demonstrated or potential for excellence in research; and 3) willingness to contribute to the Division's missions as a part of our enthusiastic, supportive, and dedicated faculty.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

1) Eligible for North Carolina licensure as a physical therapist; 2) post-doctoral
research training or history of extramural grant funding as principal investigator; and 3) demonstrated ability to teach in a graduate-level program.
