Assistant Medical DirectorCampus Health - Student Health Center

Summary

The Assistant Medical Director is part of the primary care clinical care team at the Student Health Centers. Staff physicians diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses and injuries in a college/university population. Staff physicians are credentialed and privileged to perform their duties according to Student Health Center policies and procedures. This position supports the core mission of The Student Health Centers, which is to promote physical health and wellness of students while they are in pursuit of higher academic education and achievement.

Required Qualifications

* Licensed provider (MD or DO), completed an accredited post-doctoral residency program in Family Medicine, Pediatrics or Internal Medicine, be Board eligible in a primary care specialty, and be eligible for licensure in the state of Louisiana.

Preferred Qualifications

* Board certification in a primary care medical specialty.* Experience providing in-service medical education to clinical staff.* 1 year of experience in a clinical out-patient setting.* 1 year of experience providing medical care in a college health setting.* Experience supervising health profession students and trainees.* Clinical competence in providing out-patient procedures including but not limited to: Incision and drainage, removal of foreign bodies, laceration care, wound care, fluorescein eye exams, and liquid nitrogen treatment for select dermatologic conditions. * Stays current on developments in the field of medicine and college health.
