About the Role
The Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist III is a key customer service position within Uber Freight. This position is responsible for resolution of discrepant carrier invoices, building shipments, updating shipment attributes, communicating internally and/or externally with Operations, Carrier Pricing, Procurement, Helpdesk, and potentially shipper/receiver facilities. This role will analyze the root cause of invoice discrepancies and work with the appropriate party(s) to escalate the issues as needed for final resolution. The successful candidate must display superior communication skills (consistent, professional, effective, prompt, and courteous). A successful candidate will lead and support existing employees and also train new employees in daily processes, tasks, and best practices.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Assist in leading team to meet directives of upper management.
- Provide support for Audit/CSI teams as related to carrier communications and full invoice discrepancy resolution using Uber Freight guidelines, carrier contracts, and customer business rules.
- Facilitate communication between Accounting teams and Operations teams to work collaboratively on issues affecting their account(s).
- Create, train, and implement information regarding Uber Freight Audit processes, including building invoice-only MEs.
- Know and understand account-specific requirements - required charges, customer business rules, carrier contracts, etc.
- Constant innovation of the behind-the-scenes action within TMSF - how things work vs. how they should work. Work with IT to create specialized products that best address needs.
- Maintain a working knowledge of multiple Uber Freight accounts with an intermediate level or above understanding of Uber Freight business as it pertains to Accounts Payable/Receivable within the company.
- Research, daily/weekly KPI reporting, and special projects as assigned.
- Resolve carrier invoice discrepancies using Uber Freight guidelines, customer business rules, carrier rate agreements, etc.
- Provide support for teams as related to customer communications and full billing discrepancy resolution using Uber Freight guidelines and customer contracts & business rules.
- Field incoming carrier calls and emails regarding carrier invoice status.
Basic Qualifications - High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 1 year in Finance, specifically Accounts Payable or Audit; At least 1 year in previous 3PL/Transportation-related field preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft or Google Tools and of TMSF and root cause of TMSF issues.
- Knowledge of BI reporting and of the Oracle or Comparable ERP System, specifically Accounts Payable module(s), Uber Freight TMS, Shipment Planning, Shipment Entry, Shipment Execution, and TMS Lite.
