Job Description
Our Amada CNC programmer plays an important part on the American Products Team. The CNC programmer develops programs to aid in the cutting, punching, forming and general production of sheet metal. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Analyze customer drawings, determine best fabrication practice, layout flat blanks.
• Create, edit & maintain files for CNC lasers, turrets, and press brakes.
• Ensure CNC programs are functional, efficient and parts created match drawing specifications.
• Work with machine operators to troubleshoot and address any issues related to programs, materials, fixtures, tooling, and functionality of parts.
• Utilize customer drawings to accurately convey all pertinent information to operators through programming.
• Ensure all routings are correct and accurate for seamless production.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Some Travel will be required.
Qualifications
Education
High School Graduate or GED Required
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD software (Inventor & AutoCAD)
• Experience using DXF & Step files
• Good people skills: Ability to work with team, engineering, and manufacturing personnel.
• Ability to use calipers and other measuring tools.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming.
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities
Other Skills
• Requires interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel.
• Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties.
