Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

  • Have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Governmental and fund accounting principles and higher education policies and procedures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • MS Office products, ERP systems for budget, finance, and human resources.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to research and resolve customer inquiries/assigned tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education budgeting processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of governmental fund accounting.
  • Knowledge of basic budgeting principles.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Ability to work with large data sets in Excel using advanced spreadsheet skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Ability to work under general supervision, learn quickly, multitask and prioritize workload and readjust as needed.
Job Description:

The Administrative Budget Specialist manages and coordinates budget and financial matters for a specific department.

Job Duties:

  • Process basic budget functions, create departmental budget adjustments, daily RIB processing, uses of reserves, and estimated income.
  • Provide research and resolutions for departmental over budgets including back office hard stops.
  • Assist with the creation of process documentation for budget and master data functions.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment providing departmental assistance when needed and cross training other analyst on master data specific SAP task.
  • Assist with daily operational tasks of the University Police Department.
Additional Information to Applicants:

  • This position requires driving University vehicles.
  • This position requires pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing.
