Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday

Duties: Conduct research, validate data and make recommendations using advanced principles in order to resolve a variety of problems in the absence of guidelines or precedents. Manage activities of a department including but not limited to performance of major actuarial functions, planning, problem solving, staff development, communication and review of actuarial policies and internal procedures, coordinate across departments and divisions. Present key objectives to executive leadership as needed and represent organization on industry task forces and work groups. Proactively seek out opportunities to innovate and develop new processes, procedures and solutions considering corporate impact and consequences of recommendations. Plan, lead and deliver projects utilizing a comprehensive understanding of complex actuarial principles and practices. Communicate utilizing collaboration and influence with key business partners; present findings and recommendations that maximize knowledge transfer and segment growth. Remain current on actuarial techniques, seek development and improvement opportunities and understand corporate/ cross-functional objectives and cultural beliefs. Remote Work Permitted.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or closely related field of study and six (6) years of experience as a Actuarial Advisor, Actuarial Lead Analyst, Actuarial Senior Analyst, Actuarial Intern, or related role where experience was gained. Employer will also accept eight (8) years of experience as an Actuarial Advisor, Actuarial Lead Analyst, Actuarial Senior Analyst, Actuarial Intern, or related role where experience was gained, in lieu of a degree. Also requires at least 6 years of experience in the following:

  • Actuarial methods and practices used to perform moderately complex actuarial analyses and calculations, including experience in ACA (Affordable Care Act) rating and risk adjustment transfer calculations, IBNR and valuations calculations, trend analysis, pricing work, and/or financial reporting.
  • Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and
  • Other programming languages and tools such a SQL, VBA, and Tableau.
Also requires
  • ASA designation and completion of all FSA exams
  • Member of the Society of Actuaries and American Academy of Actuaries
