Volt is immediately hiring for full time AP/AR Specialist for a leading steel fabrication company in Portland, Oregon
As a Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist you will:
Accounts Payable (AP) Duties:
- Review, verify, and process incoming invoices and bills from vendors.
- Ensure that invoices match purchase orders or contracts and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process payment runs (checks, ACH, wires, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all AP transactions are recorded in the company's accounting system.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all AP documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Duties: - Generate and send out customer invoices based on sales or service agreements.
- Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up accordingly.
- Record incoming payments and allocate them accurately in the accounting system.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any payment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of AR balances and payment histories.
- Prepare aging reports to track overdue accounts and provide reports to management.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure that all invoices are accurate and timely.
General Duties: - Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities related to AP and AR.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, customers, and vendors.
- Provide excellent customer service to both vendors and customers regarding payment inquiries.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.
Qualifications: -
Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. (Degree is highly preferred)

Preferred Experience:
- Several years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
- Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or similar accounting software.
- Familiarity with payroll procedures, accounts receivable, and custom project processes.

Skills:
- Strong organizational skills to follow and improve current systems.
- Discipline to manage daily transaction entries and maintain a monthly schedule.
- Leadership abilities to mentor and train administrative staff.
- Patience to work effectively with field employees and challenging vendors.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data filters.
- Technological adeptness with online banking and vendor portals.
This is a
full time position. You must have an open and flexible schedule.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am-4pm
Pay rate: $25-$27 per hour
