What we need:

Do you enjoy analyzing and interpreting data to create appropriate business solutions? You might be a great fit for our team as Mohawk's Rebate Analyst. This role will partner with internal and external customers to resolve reconciliation issues, as well as support Sales through reporting, processing and inquiry response. This role will provide financial analysis and support primarily for the Builders.

This role is responsible for Flooring North America accounting including general accounting duties, month-end close tasks, Journal Entry preparation, moderate to complex G/L account reconciliations, periodic and ad hoc reporting, and audit support.

What you'll do:

  • Review monthly sales of builders to determine builder and/or sales rebate eligibility and communicate regularly with our sales teams on performance
  • Processes monthly and quarterly rebate incentives and manage the distribution of incentives
  • Maintain rebate builder database and coordinate communication between Finance and Sales
  • Communicates with external builders to resolve reporting and eligibility issues.
  • Provide reporting and research as requested to internal departments and external customers
  • Collect data from source documents and prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliation for accounts
  • Work closely with management, team members and assigned business units to ensure the timely and accurate communication, implementation, and monitoring of regulatory, corporate and department compliance guidelines
  • Maintain accounting information systems records and identify process improvements and work to implement
  • Provides support to and training to team members and performs other duties as required.
  • Design reporting within Vistex/BI system to meet the needs of leadership and field personnel.
  • Gather and prepare audit documentation
  • Supports departmental goals and projects successfully.
  • Performs other related analytical duties as required

What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (preferred) or requisite work experience
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting and administration that includes journal entry preparation, General Ledger Accounting, and account reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and ability
  • Experience using SAP, AS400, Vistex, etc. (preferred)
  • Reporting tool experience such as Business Objects, Power BI, SSAS, SAC preferred

  • Good oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills; ability to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment, and diplomacy when interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to professionally handle difficult or sensitive situations regarding compensation.
  • Exercising independent judgment and demonstrating solid time management and organizational skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and schedules.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools especially Excel for analyzing data to provide to management for decision making.
  • Strong Analytical Skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; especially Excel (V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, Formulas).
  • Ability to research more complex accounting topics and draw relevant conclusions to present to management.
  • Willingness to learn from, and work with, diverse teams across functional areas at all levels of the business.
  • Ability and willingness to accept responsibility, willingness to challenge established practices and draw relevant conclusions, including the persistence and willingness to take a calculated risk, to stimulate, market, and sell new ideas within the organization.
